Do You Want to be a SAFED Trainer?
To qualify you must:
- Have no more than 3 points on your licence
- Have no driving bans within the last 4 years
- Undertake a SAFED assessment and pass with distinction
- Be on the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) voluntary register for driving instructors
To qualify as a Commercial Training Instructor you should have:
- Full class C&E entitlement, i.e. be able to train on all vehicles
- An LGV licence for a minimum of five years
- At least 2 years instructor experience
To qualify as an In-house instructor you should have:
- A class of licence appropriate to the vehicles used by your company
- An LGV licence for a minimum of 3 years.
SAFED training should take place in a vehicle fitted with fuel monitoring equipment.
