SAFED
Guidance
for
Obtaining
Fuel-Monitoring
Equipment
Thank
you
for
the
interest
you
have
expressed
in
the
SAFED
Programme.
One
of
the
criteria
of
the
Programme
is
to
ensure
that
the
vehicles
you
use
for
SAFED
training
have
fuel-monitoring
equipment
fitted.
This
need
only
be
a
basic
flow-monitoring
device
with
an
in-cab
display.
In
the
first
instance
we
recommend
that
if
your
vehicle
is
still
in
warranty
you
should
contact
your
manufacturer/
dealer.
Newer
vehicles
should
already
have
a
CANBUS
system
fitted
as
standard
and
it
may
be
that
all
you
need
to
do
is
to
have
the
fuel-monitoring
device
activated
on
this
by
your
dealer.
Older
vehicles
without
the
CANBUS
system
fitted
will
need
to
have
a
basic
fuel-monitoring
device
installed.
This
need
only
be
a
flow-monitoring
device
and
does
not
have
to
be
a
telematic
system.
While
we
do
not
endorse
any
particular
supplier
we
provide
a
list
below
to
help
get
you
started,
although
you
are
encouraged
to
contact
other
suppliers
in
your
area.
